An Interview with the MAyor

Picture Perfect Production Showcases Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms

In spite of global pandemics taking place throughout 2020, Picture Perfect Production and Editorial has been able to push through critical times and keep the cameras rolling! As a production company that prides itself on promoting positive images right here in Atlanta; it was a Picture Perfect match for the team to showcase one of our very own, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. The task at hand - showcasing Mayor Bottoms in her honor as one of Glamour Magazine's 2020 Women of the Year!

Working closely with Mayor Bottoms highly organized team, Willie Giles stated “we could not have done with without Michael Smith and Phillana Williams.” Press Secretary for the Office of Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Michael Smith, stated “absolutely one of the most talented and professional teams I have had the pleasure to work with.”

Atlanta's not only got "A Mayor Named Keisha ''; but one who embodies the true essence of Atlanta's Civil Rights history, culture and triumphant spirit. And it was during research preparation for the interview with Mayor Bottoms that Picture Perfect Senior Producer, Chelsea Tafoya, not only made this connection, but discovered a unique connection to Mayor Bottoms of her own.

"We like to deliver a story perspective that is less common. The way Mayor Bottoms face lit up when speaking about her dad (iconic R&B crooner, Major Bottoms) gave me chills!,” exclaimed Chelsea. During their interview Bottoms shared the following fond memory and fun fact: “...last year Elton John was in Atlanta doing some work with his AIDS foundation. And my dad always told me that Elton John got his start playing piano behind him. And when I introduced myself and told him who my dad was, he began singing one of my dad's songs to me. And he told me a story about being on tour with my dad across Europe. And at the end of this tour, my dad took off his tie and gave him his tie. And he described the tie and that's who my dad was.” It was a similar tour that connected Chelsea with Mayor Bottoms’ legacy. During their interview, Chelsea gifted Mayor Bottoms with a tour pamphlet from The Biggest Show of Stars featuring non other than Mayor Bottoms’ father, and Chelsea’s Great Grandfather, legendary entertainer Harold ‘Stumpy’ Cromer, who was Master of Ceremonies for the tour, announcing Mayor Bottoms prior to his performance. Picture Perfect is also in production on the documentary, No Room At All - A Harold Cromer Story, highlighting Cromer’s incredible nine decade journey in the entertainment industry.
